Lewis County boasts a favorable labor profile. Our community has a number of workforce training programs that are here to assist you in making a successful investment. We offer both customized workforce training, on the job training support, and four degree programs that support business and industry. In addition there are five community colleges within 50 miles which enroll almost 20,000 students.

Centralia College

Programs include Centralia College two degree programs, technical programs, and some four year programs. An example of technical programs include: Welding, Diesel Technology, Robotics, and Electronics. Centralia College also offers a four year degree in Diesel Technology as well as a bachelor of science in Business Management. Custom training programs are available to fit numerous specific business needs.

Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council

Federally funded through the “Workforce Investment Act” as well as Washington State this organization is here to assist business with workforce training needs with both customized training and “On The Job Training.” The Council works to prepare the workforce to meet the skill needs of local Employers. Pacific Mountain has access to additional programmatic funds that support the training of workers.

Services include:

  • Assessment of skill needs and capabilities
  • Basic literacy skills training
  • Job-specific skills training
  • Successful matching of the job to the right employee
  • Skills upgrading for existing employees
